We're definitely getting more serious, what with the backstory and the drama, but they still feel really harmlessly fun and exciting. I really appreciated more of the outlandish ideas and reveals this time around as well. Something about Jackaby being serious makes me squirm a bit, but I'm really excited to get into book 4 next time I need to clear my head and just have a good time :'D Previous 2 books was a build up to this one. And all of them are building up to the 4th one. Can't wait to see where the story ends. Also Jenny! My favorite character finally blossomed in full force! This was another really cool book. It lead way for another book in the series and I cannot wait. I did read out of order , don't do that. I missed something from book 2- it was kinda confusing. But I figured it out eventually. But again I so recommend this book. Ghostly Echoes: A Jackaby Novel by William Ritter is book three in the series. In this book Jackaby finally is getting around to working on Jenny's case, she was murdered ten years prior. Jenny is the ghost in the house and their friend. There is soooo much that happens in here. I don't want to give anything away but it is all unpredictable and amazing! New bad guys that are truly evil! Great story! inga recensioner | lägg till en recension

"The highly anticipated third volume of the paranormal detective series perfect for "readers who enjoy Doctor Who, Supernatural, Grimm...and of course, Sherlock Holmes stories, and who are ready to say up into the wee hours." Jenny Cavanaugh, the ghostly landlord of 926 Augur Lane, has enlisted the services of her detective-agency tenants to solve a decade-old murder--her own. Abigail Rook and her eccentric employer, R. F. Jackaby, dive into the cold case, starting with a search for Jenny's fiancé, who went missing the night she died. But when a new, gruesome murder closely mirrors the events of ten years prior, Abigail and Jackaby realize that Jenny's case isn't so cold after all, and her killer may be far more dangerous than they suspected. Fantasy and folklore mix with mad science as Abigail's race to unravel the mystery leads her across the cold cobblestones of nineteenth-century New England, down to the mythical underworld, and deep into her colleagues' grim histories to battle the most deadly foe she has ever faced" -- Inga biblioteksbeskrivningar kunde hittas. |

(update Oct 2017) I forgot I was supposed to finish this review. That was dispiriting about losing it. I remember very little. I liked it but I didn't love it. These are good books but never quite attain to great. I love the detective. I wish the cases were shorter and sweeter and not so much tramping through the forest with magical creatures. (
