A first translation into English of three short stories by mid-nineteenth century German author Theodor Storm. These lyrical tales bring an attractive picture of life among the well to do bourgeoisie of provincial North Germany during a period of political and economic stability, where the focus is on the warmth of inter-generational personal relations and on sentimental memories of youthful halcyon days.
