Christelow made a wonderful stylistic choice as an author when she wrote the catchy phrase, "Five little monkeys sitting in a tree, tease Mr. Crocodile, 'Can't catch me!' Along comes Mr. Crocodile..." I loved this and I think kids would to and would enjoy saying it along with me. Once again, Christelow used repetition in this book which I enjoyed. ( )

This book is about five monkeys who tease a crocodile, disappear one-by-one, and end up hidden in the tree. It not only teaches counting, but the importance of being nice; in addition to this, I loved the detailed illustrations. For these reasons, I would include it in my classroom, and read it to grades PreK-1st during math! ( )

I think this book is appropriate for a read aloud for pre school aged children. It's a great learn to read book for children who are just beginning to read because the vocabulary is very repetetive. ( )
