I really was captured by this book from page one. I really did not think i would love a book so focused on religion but i really loved the main character and the whole cast of characters. This book handled so many topics including grief, and finding your own self and was a joy to read. It end was came so fast and I just wanted more info about everything. I def am still thinking about this book and these characters and is very powerful. I loved how this book focused so much on friendship and i will def read more by this author in the future. ( )

I thoroughly enjoyed this story of Lucy who is a teenager at the height of her high school experiences when she finds out her mom’s cancer is back and her long term boyfriend is making plans that might not include her . Mostly set in a summer camp where Lucy is a counselor, the story takes us through Lucy journey as she learns to trust in what she knows about herself , yet steps out into new relationships and experiences. A tender story filled with teenagers who share their experiences and backgrounds to help others deal with the realities and sometimes unexpected trials that life gives us (especially if you need to read something about how peers dealt with tragedy or loved one’s illness) Fun friendships, summer romance , and summer camp experiences make the story fun and tender serious issues are addressed tho it fully and full of spirit and heart. Lucy is a pastor’s kid and faith exploration as you would expect from a teenager’s Innocence is woven through the story. ( )

I really loved the friendships and focus on open and honest communication in this. I also enjoyed how the conflict was resolved - it would have been so easy to blow it way out of proportion but I thought it was incredibly realistic and very well-done. ( )
