Brilliant. It has a lot of very unexpected twists and turns. I would never have expected some of the happenings in this book in a million years! I was glued to the pages. Cannot wait for the next book! ( )

Very little plot summary and zero spoilers follow. Both are pretty easy to find if that's what you're looking for.

Liked this one and would recommend you finish with this if you start and are into the series, but I don't think it's the strongest of the three.

Diabolical is third in a series (first is Malevolent, second is Sinister). The main character is a doozy--strongest and most interesting female character in a procedural series that I've 'met' in a long time. While each book has a 'refresher' so these don't HAVE to be read in order and you COULD dip in/out, I think it's actually more meaningful if you read all three, in order.

This one starts strong and reads quick. Shayne's backstory is finally revealed in full. There's a resolution of this particular installment story, but it's clear that there will be at least a fourth (planned for release in 2017).
While as a reader, I'd be sorry to leave this character behind and I'm sure the author has more stories she can tell through her, it might have been more powerful and satisfying to not tie everything up and keep it going.

I think I fear diminishing returns. Much as I might want to gobble down more installments, I'm pushing back from the table with this one so I'm left wanting more. ( )
