This is an absolutely wonderful ending to the trilogy. I loved every word and purposely tried to stretch things so that I wouldn't finish it too fast. I love this trilogy and this is a great conclusion to it. I know I just said that, but it is SO true. Everything gets wrapped up as well as you could expect it to, there are definitely some twists and turns I did not see coming. There are also some religious elements I wasn't really expecting to show up but they made sense for the story and didn't feel like too much at all. The characters and relationships are interesting and complex, and the final battle definitely surprised me in several ways. There are some questions I've still got about some of the characters, though, nothing that affects the overall story but just those individual characters. I love the feeling of hope and life-goes-on at the end of the trilogy and I feel like that could easily lend itself to more if the author ever felt like adding another book in this universe. I'd love to see a book centered on Leven and/or Adrian, for example, or to find out more about Walter from before he died and became a Spirit Guide. In fact, I'd like to know more about the Spirit Guides of other characters. Does Jim's Spirit Guide ever roll their eyes at their "Jesse James, bang bang" ritual Nathan and Jim have? Can Spirit Guides communicate with each other, see each other? If so, do Walter and Jim's Spirit Guides ever look at each other with fond exasperation over their charges? And I certainly want to know more about Oberon and Ula and how things go with them. It felt finished, everything fitting together like puzzle pieces, but I love that it still feels like there could be more, one day, maybe. Even if there isn't, this is a great trilogy just the way it is and I'm so glad that it exists. ( )
