unforgetable characters, broken, beat up by life and somehow they survive. Luanne feels deep and she shows us in this wonderful story of redemption. ( )

Anne David has returned to the island where she grew up following the death of her daughter and the breakup of her marriage. A house fire destroys her old family home but touches off the beginning of her recovery. A typical Luanne Rice book--lots of good character working their way through the problems in their lives. This was a story of two scarred people helping each other to begin to live again and of two teenagers trying to find their life paths. ( )

This novel is similar to most of Luanne's novels. Once again, it is about a lady who had lost something and in the midst of recovery, found her new love. There's nothing wrong with such plot. It's just that somehow the main characters in the story always fell in love at first sight. And the male character always manages to see, from a distance, through the clothing, how sexy the female character is. But how likely is such 'love at first sight' to happen and how real it is?

I always enjoyed Luanne's novels. Just wasn't very thrilled with this particular one. Nonetheless, she remains one of the authors whose books i enjoy... ( )
