In this interactive book, children are encourage to "play along" as the author guides the reader through various actions, depending on the text and illustrations on each page spread. Despite the title, the reader is asked to say "oh!" and "ah!" far more often than "zoop!" (which appears only on the final page). While it is good to have a fun way to engage children and ask them to follow directions, this book seems too similar to Tullet's previous offerings like Press Here. The first couple of times are clever; after that, it starts to feel a little too much like a one-trick pony. ( )

Wonderful integration of sight and sound for preschool and younger elementary students. Like Tullet's previous books it is designed to be interactive and have the reader touch the pages while making various sounds. This is a perfect book for connecting visual representation and vocal exploration in music class! Cant wait to try it out with my little ones. It is long, and contains a number of different concepts, so I could easily see breaking this one up over several lessons, or even reading the full book first and using various pages independently as exercises. Bright primary colored graphics are appealing ( )

Say Zoop! is an interactive picture book with lots of repetition. The pages are colorful and full of great sound words that children will LOVE saying. This book would be excellent with very small groups. However, since it tells the kids to touch the dots on the page, or trace shapes, it would be extremely difficult to do with a full class. In addition, it is very long (actually feels even longer). While this could be used for with lessons including counting, colors and phonetics - it is much better one-on-one (and you better have some serious time set aside). ( )
