Williams Sonoma never disappoints me. I love their catalogs. I love the Global knives my thoughtful husband bought me when he was fortunate enough to visit one of their stores (Alas, no Williams Sonoma shops in our area). But their cookbooks – Any I have owned or borrowed one that I didn’t have fun with. Most recently I have been having a ball with the cookbook The Essentials of Italian. In addition to many amazingly delicious recipes, there is a bit of history about the regions in Italy .

Working through this book gave me a culinary tour of Italy . It’s a “must have” for any cook who favors Italian cuisine.
