Monica immediately fell in love with the doll she found in her room, but her difficulties adjusting to the school seem to be tied to it. When she finds a ghost haunting her and herself getting in trouble every time a wish she's made comes true, she knows she has to do something to stop it. She works together with the ghost who formerly owned the doll to stop it and get her life back on track. ( )

Chapter book series along the lines of Goosebumps. It is written a bit better than some of the other books from similar series. The outcome is predictable. Some important parts are left out, like why did the main character's friend decide she was telling the truth. Also, the reasons given for the ghost's behavior were not given, yet the main character has a full explanation at the end, though we know the ghost never told her. ( )
