The Red by Tiffany Reisz is amazing! I was lucky to receive an advanced copy from Netgalley and I am so grateful, I really did enjoy this one. I will admit I picked this book because I absolutely loved the cover, this is the first time I am so glad to judge a book by its Amazing cover.
This book is extremely steamy so if you don’t want to spend one night reading a steamy romance novel start this book in the morning and just call out of work! This book also has an amazing appeal to those who love art, so if art and smutt is your cup of tea make a whole pot and enjoy.
Mona Lisa St. James is a young woman who makes a death bed promise to her mother to make sure she does anything she can to keep The Red open, the red being an art gallery that is failing. As Mona is contemplating how she can stretch what funds she has...She see a man standing in the Gallery looking at a small painting with a discerning eye...He is quite the vision himself... Masculine, robust and impressive... a quiet strength which became impossible to ignore the moment he looked directly at Mona. She greeted him as if he was just another man who had an interest in art... This was nothing new...only the electricity in the air was startling and caused Mona to regard this stranger more carefully.... The beautiful stranger speaks with Mona gives her a few subtle complements then gives her a proposition she can’t refuse. He asks her to be his whore for a full year. Ms. Reisz does a beautiful job with her words and chapter format, where each chapter is named after a piece of art that is beautifully described, what I loved was that each painting was also a hint of the sexual adventures that Mona will experience.
I don’t want to ruin this book for anyone so all I will say is that this is a lighthearted read the sexual scenes are nothing run of the mill, but I hope that this review encourages you to give this book a chance because my heads up isn’t to make anyone run but to be prepared for the unexpected! 5 red Stars from me! I remember asking in an email to Ms. Reisz if she would be putting out a book done by "Nora Sutherlin" wanting to read the book she wrote while in the nunnery. I don't remember the response but am happy to see this coming out. If "Inception" was in literary form, this would be it.



There is no possible way to review this book. I am pretty sure that Tiffany Reisz never expected The Red to be anything more that what it truly is, an addition to The Original Sinners series. The fact that it wasn't her voice and had so many allusions to the series confirmed that although The Red was published as an erotic fantasy standalone, it is more apt to say that it was a major piece of character insight to other series.

Enjoy The Red on the surface if you don't know what I am saying. However, don't hold it up as an example of Tiffany Resz's work. This is not her work. Its hard to write this with the full understanding that the "author" of The Red is also a fictional character. However, there is no mistaking the intent of the book. I can only imagine how difficult it was on a technical level to write this book. I got it. I won't list all the ways I got it, but I did. ( )

So weird but so worth it

Every time I think she's pushed the envelope as far as it can go, she sets the thing on fire. The Red is probably her dirtiest book yet, and I was THERE for every single page. With its fantastical elements and told in Tiffany's evocative prose, The Red will confound you and still leave you wanting more. Highly recommended for fans of her other works and anyone who wants to explore the more erotic parts of the world of art. ( )

Each time he comes, they begin by acting out a scene from a different famous piece of art. Every meeting is a unique and erotic experience. Do not try to read this book in a public setting. There's a good chance you'll need some 'me time' more than once. The scenes may push your boundaries also. I enjoyed each time Malcolm paid a visit. Certain bits almost made me combust. I loved the ending. I guessed something along those lines of what Malcolm was, but I never would have guessed his end game. The story wraps up well, but I wouldn't be opposed to revisiting Mona in another book.
