I'm not quite sure what I just read but it was pretty fun.

Obligatory down star though because I forgot about it for a month. (

I'm not really sure how I feel about this book. It has great worldbuilding and a fascinating skating element, with a little mystery, lots of competition, mean girls, and navigating new friendships. I think it's a solid choice for booktalks and school visits, with a great hook.

This story just dragged for me, plodding until the last couple of chapters. Peasprout really is unattractively self-centered, not bothering to learn the names of fellow students she doesn't see as competition and while knowing her survival is on the line is deficient in observational and listening skills. Of course it turns around, but more mechanically than credibly. (
