This book was very very sweet, but obviously for older children because I think it's a bit too sophisticated for younger children. Pierre, a fisherman is in love with Catherine, a ballet teacher, but is desperately afraid to tell her. He fights his emotions for so long, too afraid to tell her, but too in love to stay away. He leaves her many gifts, but never stays to tell her his feelings. Until one day she waits to catch her mysterious gift giver and he is forced to admit his feelings. Catherine admits to being in love with someone else, but she does not know who he is and she has not approached him yet. At the end of the story she realizes that the man she has been longing after is Pierre and they livve happily ever after. Teaching kids that admitting their feelings will always take a load off their chest and it may even turn out the way you want it to in the end. ( ) Pierre, an adventurous fisherman falls in love with a painting ballet dancing bunny. He builds up the nerve to tell her what was in his heart. When she rejects him he has to realize it's your love that makes you strong, not the love of the other person. (P.S. she loves him too) Children's fantasy picture book. I wasn't sure about this book at first. The idea of a picture book love story seemed silly. It's not a relateable concept for kids, but the illustration is SO great and the characters are so, well, French, that I found it very compelling. My daughter loved it. I'm not sure if I would bring this one to school. It's adventurous to be sure, but I'm not positive it would keep the attention of some of the boys. I love the lesson that your love is what makes you strong is great, and one many people would benefit from. inga recensioner | lägg till en recension
