Packed with humour, true-to-life characters, witty and entertaining story of a stay-at-home Dad. Spoilers abound. This book got good reviews & seemed to be about people changing for the better so I decided to read it. It is very readable & well-done, but it is kind of a connect-the-lines plot. The incidents happen one by one and build up his faith and his self-confidence. It is nice to read about people being good friends to other people & helping them because that is what people actually do. It just seemed like this guy is portrayed as always doing the right thing -- when he yells at a guy at the shelter, for example, it turns out to be the right thing to have done. And it seems weird that the kid improved so dramatically but the parents didn't really get it. I can see that they may have been afraid to believe their senses, but the mother, especially, didn't seem to see the changes that the author made pretty clear. Anyway, I doubt I will read more of his books, but I do appreciate the effort to show a world with good people in it. inga recensioner | lägg till en recension
