I enjoyed Caraval and Legendary, but for some reason, Finale didn't capture me and make me want to keep turning the pages the way the first two installments did, and honestly, it took me quite a long time to get through, but I wanted to finish it and see how everything tied together and came to an end. I didn't quite enjoy reading about Scarlett and Tella the way I did when I read the first two books, and I can't really pinpoint why. I understand this is a YA novel, but I'm generally not a big fan of love triangles, and both sisters have them in the story (though Scarlett's ended faster than Tella's). I would have liked to spend more time with their mother, Paloma/Paradise. And I felt like the ending was too rushed, and was a bit of an unsatisfying climax after so much build-up. I'm also not a fan of HEA with everything tied up into a neat little bow, but I'm generally someone that prefers bittersweet endings, to begin with. I feel like nobody really lost anything or had to sacrifice anything (considering the events and plot are darker than the first two books), and that makes the ending a little less meaningful. But that's my personal opinion. That being said, I enjoyed the action, the prose, and I still love the way that Ms. Garber describes emotions in colors. I loved all the magic and learning about all the Fates. It's certainly easy to get lost in the world that Ms. Garber has created! I'd still recommend this to Caraval fans. Overall, liked it, but I didn't love it the way I hoped I would. I'm torn on what to think about this. I think this world is so rich and lush and loved the this both had both sisters POV. This book was such engaging read. It had some new plot points that I think were a bit rushed but found it to be fun series. I really liked the romance at the heart of this read. and really loved the how magical this world was. It was am really hoping we get more books in this series. inga recensioner | lägg till en recension

I liked this definitely more than the second. Having both sisters’ points of view was great, I loved going back and forth between them. It was a little heavy on the romance theme but ended satisfyingly. ( )
