I've done two rounds of FMD on the advice of this book. The writing quality is so-so, but the research & reporting on lab work is what is valuable.

I'll admit, I skimmed parts of this book. What I took away is the impression of how thoroughly researched Dr Longo's research was. I've been doing the Fasting Mimicking Diet for a year and a quarter, 4 times a year. I've noticed improvement in certain areas: no longer do I suffer bursitis in my shoulder, my osteoarthritis has improved somewhat, and I no longer get pre-cancerous lesions on my face, as I used chronically to do. Worth the five days, four times a year. ( )

"Campa cavallo che l'erba cresce" - questo modo di dire mi è venuto in mente mentre leggevo il libro. Avevo letto una recensione sul giornale e mi ero convinto che, dinosauro come sono, avevo diritto anche io a raggiungere gli obiettivi che l'autore si prefigge per chi legge il suo volume. Senza mettere in dubbio il suo lavoro, non ne avrei le capacità e il tempo, penso che tra tutte queste ricette e contro ricette, elenchi e sotto elenchi, schemi e contro schemi, mi sono sentito quel cavallo che non mangia e aspetta che l'erba cresce ... Gli dò tre stelle per l'impegno profuso nel suo lavoro e prometto di mangiare come ho sempre fatto senza mai smettere di guardare l'erba che cresce ... ( )
