This is not a book about mission or evangelism. It is a book about discipleship, about becoming more like Jesus. But you cannot talk about discipleship without talking about mission or evangelism because becoming more like Jesus means having to see, feel, pray, and do as Jesus did with people. Instead, we are invited to determine what we believe rather than being told what we should believe, starting with a simple challenge from Jesus. "I'm going. Do you want to come?"Using narrative images and metaphors to look at Jesus' ministry, personal questions begin surfacing. Those questions make impressions which have consequences in our lives, similar to somebody working with wood or leather, or like a kitchen table when a toddler hits it with a fork-those things never go back to being the same.
