Hyatt has packed this book full of great stuff for everybody, not just productivity nerds. His three step system to help you focus starts with "STOP". And believe it or not, it's exactly what most of us need. I had hundreds of tasks littering several projects and "areas of focus" (to borrow a phrase from another well-known productivity system). Hyatt's exercises helped me whittle that list down by about half based on what I actually WANTED to get done (desire zone) and what needed to get done (distraction or disinterest zone); almost everything else (drudgery zone) was chucked because it was either never going to get done or didn't fit in with what I wanted.

There are several points to his system that just won't work for the type of business I do, but the Freedom Compass is a great tool I plan to use to keep my tasks on track.

I don't hesitate recommending this book to anybody looking to become more productive, to learn about productivity, to implement their own system, or even just to reboot your current system with some new tips. ( )

A quick, easy read packed with practical time management advice. My favorite time management book thus far. I’ve already handed it off to someone else who now wants to read it and it made it onto my buy-extra-copies-to-give-away list.

The only reason I took off half a star was because you have to download the worksheets online and to do so, you have to provide your name, email address, phone number, number of employees and annual income / revenue. I understand that authors want to capture leads, but having to answer excessively invasive questions to download worksheets that could have been printed in the book was a big turnoff for me. ( )

This is one of 2 books I would recommend to anyone on ordering your schedule and time to focus on what's most important

I’ve read all of Michael Hyatt’s previous works so I was looking forward to reading this. If you are a regular listener to his podcast and reader of his blog, there isn’t anything new in this book. But that’s not a critique. If you buy into Hyatt’s method of productivity, this is the book you give to friends and colleagues to explain his methods, without them having to listen to hours of podcasts.

It’s a good book that has surmised all of Hyatt’s advice in an easy to follow guide. It’s a must read for anyone that feels bogged down in work ( )

As far as time management books go, this was good. It covers a lot of ground, but it was not ground breaking. The author seemed nice enough, and had obviously thought deeply about the subject. If time management as a discipline was new to a reader, this would be a worthy read. ( )
