In this book the author depicts the insects and bugs with bright bold illustrations. The words pop out to you as you read this book and you do not want to put it down. The author in this book gives the reader a great description of each bug or insect in this book.A good book to teach children about different insects around them. The author has a PHD in Botany from University Texas in Austin. She also has a Masters Of Fine Arts from The Arts Institute in Chicago. The author has twice won The Eisenstaedt Award for Magazine Photography. Summary: Bug Faces is a National Geographic picture book where each page in the book includes a close-up picture of a different insect and fun facts about that insect. The information is displayed in a unique format where the reader is enticed to read the information and the wording is also reader friendly and interesting. Teaching Implications: Bug Faces can be used to supplement or introduce a unit on insects and bugs. The photographs are exciting and accurate and show the faces of the actual insects – something that most of us don’t get the chance to see. Bug Faces can also be used to teach design in writing. Each of the pages uses a different design to explain the fun facts about the insects that is attractive to the reader. This could be used to encourage creativity in not just the words used in writing, but also how the words are displayed. inga recensioner | lägg till en recension
