**I received a review copy of this book in exchange for an honest voluntary review. All opinions are my own and not influenced by my source.**

I love Egyptian history: the idea of curses, rituals and royalty makes a lush backdrop for a novel. Which is why I find it odd that we don't often get to explore this world in fiction. So I was excited to dive into this new series!

By the end of Chapter 2 I was pretty hooked into this story. This book literally hits the ground running and the plot keeps moving at a great pace. Honestly, there isn't a dull moment here thanks to the multiple POVs you get; helping to build a 360-degree view of everything that is happening plotwise. Yet I was never overwhelmed by following multiple characters. It just helped built up the tension and suspense of what will happen when everything inevitably crashes together.

The blend of science and mythology is great. You've got all the classic elements of Ancient Egypt mixed with advanced (yet easy to follow) modern day science and it's simply great.

If you mixed "The Mummy" with "National Treasure", I feel like that's what this book would be. It's got all the action and suspense those movies have coming together to thrill the reader from the start. ( )

I received a copy of this book from the author in exchange for an honest review.

I don't usually follow this genre but decided to give it a chance. Heir of Ra was a compelling story and difficult to put down. There are plenty of twists and turns as well as action throughout. I did have trouble understanding who was a friend and who was fo and had to wait until the final chapter to see how it panned out. I was not disappointed.

A modern-day female Indiana Jones story mixed with sci-fi technology and ancient Egyptian mythology...a perfect blend. I would recommend this book to anyone interested in Action and adventure type stories. Great job Mr. Sasinowski! ( )

Sci-Fi meets Mythology meets a Suspenseful Mystery in this amazing tale.

After an excavation in Egypt, Alyssa’s father and his entire crew is struck with an unknown pathogen. Desperate to save him, she goes on a quest to figure out exactly what the source of the plague is before it can spread to the entire world.

The characters are very complex and well-fleshed out. Alyssa was my favorite character. She was a strong heroine, smart and reckless and wasn’t afraid to do what she needed to protect and save her father. Her dreams and ambitions made her easy to relate to and cheer for.

Fastpaced and action-packed, Heir of Ra is one of those stories that sinks its hooks in you and won’t let go until the end. The suspense of not knowing who is good or bad makes it all the more compelling. There’s plenty here for all readers to enjoy whether it be the Egyptian mythology, the technological spin about DNA, or the raw adventure. Even the mystery of it all is very well done. Every chapter of this book is enrapturing, and all I can say is I’m glad there are plenty more books in this series.

This book was given to me for free at my request and I provided this voluntary review.

Heir of Ra reads like an adventure novel. Sure, it is fast paced and there is not a dull moment with lots of things going on. It is also young adult. I know believe this is a combination that doesn't work for me.

The main character helps her father the archeologists at digs around the world, but is not present when one goes terribly wrong and her father and his team are poisoned when opening a special treasure in Egypt. She sets off after a valuable artifact which may or may not hold the antidote but is herself also hunted by people with guns. Lots of guns. She is also assisted by two other students.

I don't know. I don't think it was a bad book, but the story was way too unbelievable for me. (I have no problem with fantasy at all, but the many neat escapes these people manage is stretching my suspension of disbelieve a bit too far). The science-y part was rather more fiction than science, in case that puts you off.

Thanks to the publisher and Netgalley for providing me with a free copy of this book in exchange for an honest review! ( )

*I received a copy thanks to the author for review. This does not affect my review.*

This book is so good! While I read a lot of fun books each year, there are always a few that I can't put down, and that as soon as I finish the last page, I begin eagerly awaiting the next book! This is one of those books that once I started, I couldn't read fast enough, yet trying to stretch it out since the next book isn't ready yet, and I wasn't ready for the adventures to be over! (I know there are lots of you who know exactly what I mean!)

This reminded me of some of my favorites things, and in all the best ways! As some others readers have mentioned this can definitely be compared to Percy Jackson and Riodan's other mythology books, as well as movies such as: Indiana Jones, Tomb Rider or National Treasure, and maybe even The Mummy! (All of which I love!)

Full of action, adventure, and loads of fun, these books are fast-paced and easy to read. Great for YA action/adventure fans and readers who enjoy mythology and fast-paced action! ( )
