There are twin siblings named Matt and Bibi that are in Egypt to find treasure. Their parents who are geologists were invited as a family to come to the pyramid in Egypt to find treasure. Bibi and Matt find a secret passageway and get separated from their family and must use their math knowledge on geometric shapes to find their way out. Because the siblings need to know geometric shapes, this would be a great opportunity for during class to introduce shapes and relate to certain activities. The last page of this book includes five activities on how you as the teacher can introduce this topic to your class. ( )

After reading this book I think this is a great book to add to a mathematics classroom library. If your students are just getting into geometry vocabulary this is a great book to introduce that. I really liked how this book showed great visuals about what the faces of a geometric figure looks like. At the end of this book there was an interactive set of questions for students and their parents or teachers to get them thinking about geometric shapes in real life. ( )

This adventurous story follows two kids venturing in the Egypt, looking at shapes to help them find a mummy. This book is all about geometry, and the author made it more fun by having it linked to a story plot. This story touches on the different shapes (cones, spheres, cylinders, etc.), as well as the faces of these shapes.
I could see a lesson being implemented with this story as students are first being introduced to shapes. It could make a lesson more engaging, and students could understand the concept better as it is presented in a different way, compared to reading it from a textbook. ( )

This book takes the reader on an Egyptian adventure while offering a simplified introduction to geometry. It's fun and clever and is a good introductory book on geometric concepts. ( )
