This is a fun read for children of about 5 to ten years of age. Is a great way to introduce young children to the life and environment of the desert. ( )

I originally didn't think this book was overly special but it seems almost like a retelling of a few brief moments in a canyon. O immediately connected the book to the Grand Canyon, a place she's never been but occasionally reminds us that she would like to go there. She really liked this story and she felt she had a better idea of what the canyon would be like for the creatures who live there. ( )

This book is about life in Cactus Canyon. The animals are all peaceful until four coyotes appear in hopes of catching some animals. The animals are riled up by the coyotes and have to fight for their lives. Will the peaceful life return to the canyon?

A canyon full of animals is very peaceful until some coyotes come and bully all the animals out of their homes. The coyotes then run into a snake who stands up to them. The coyotes are scared of the snake so they leave and the canyon is peaceful again.

I would use this book for 1st and 2nd graders. It tells about the different animals and plant life in the desert. It has very colorful pictures.
