One of us is next (utgåvan 2020)

I quite liked this sequel - I think I liked it better then then first book. I was pretty engaged after the first couple of chapters, which established the new focus point characters. I liked that I was able to follow along, and make some good guesses about what was happening - a mystery that is unsolvable because of information that isn't given can be very frustrating (that wasn't the case here). ( )

One of Us is Next did not fall short of my expectations, in fact it exceeded my expectations!!

I loved all the characters in this book and it surprised me until the very last page :) ( )

It’s one thing for a small town to have multiple mysteries, but when a high school has more than one major mystery, one must think about what kind of kids are going to said school!
But of course, that’s where fiction comes in and the ability to suspend reality for a while. If all books were believable, what fun would that be?
The book continues the storyline of an anonymous person issuing ultimatums to students. This time it is a game and the person called out must choose truth or dare. I’m sure you can guess where it goes from there.
I’ve read a few mixed reviews about this book, but I think you have to keep it in perspective. It’s not really supposed to be the next greatest masterpiece-and that’s not against the writing; the writing was just fine, but it’s a storyline in which we have a bunch of teenagers in a scary situation. And that’s what you get - the reactions and the behaviors of teenagers. Loved it. A solid 4 ⭐️’s ( )

This was so good!! I love all the plot twists and the ending made me gasp! ( )

I was worried that this one was going to be a let down. I didn't like it as much as the first, but I found myself satisfied by the end. McManus's writing is almost hypnotic! #happysigh ( )
