Abigail Jones works to help kids who are living on the streets because she, too, left home when she was young to live on the streets to escape a bad home situation. When Abigail agrees to a meeting late at night at Coney Island with one of the kids, Abigail is attacked and ends up suffering from temporary amnesia, blocking out the traumatic events of the night. K-9 Officer Reed Branson, along with his canine partner Jessie, is the one who finds her after her attack at the carousel, and he decides he’s going to stick by her side till her memory comes back and she can identify her assailants.

This was another enjoyable entry into the True Blue K-9 Unit series. I thoroughly enjoyed the settings in this one, not only New York City, but in particular Coney Island, Brighton Beach and the boardwalk where much of the story took place. I loved the two dogs in the story—K-9 Jessie, who was so wonderful at her job, and also the sweet puppy Midnight who Reed was hoping to get Abigail to foster. Abigail tended to drive me nuts at times by not listening to law enforcement and continually running into danger and getting herself into more trouble. Overall though, it was a very good read with lovable dogs and an interesting setting. ( )

I really enjoyed this Love-Inspired Suspense. Bought this at Wal-mart and voluntarily chose to review it. I've given this a 4.7* rating. There certainly was a lot of action and some shooting. These K-9 unit books are full of a lot of action. I can't but help enjoying these dogs that work with their handlers. Some are put in danger along with their handlers but others are helpers in all sorts of things. This covered a subject that we hear in the news more and more these days.This is the second of this author's work I've read and I was not disappointed. ( )

The series True Blue K-9 Unit are stories that are continuous in that the chief of police was murdered, and his K-9 partner is missing. Each book then takes readers on adventures as the team of K-9 officers is looking for the culprit while also introducing individual members of the team and their canine partners. In Trail of Danger, readers get to meet Jessie whose lop-eared and slobbering ways endear her to the people she meets as she patrols with Officer Reed Branson.
Jessie endears herself to Abigail after helping Reed locate her when they were patrolling in Luna Park. Abigail is a social worker who is able to help kids on the streets because she was once a kid living day-to-day on the street as well. Someone thinks Abigail can identify them from their previous encounter at the park when they unsuccessfully tried to abduct Abigail.
Reed, who at one time was a confirmed bachelor, now can’t seem to be able to concentrate because his heart has been captured by Abigail. Abigail isn’t sure anyone can love her with her past even though her present and future are on a new and redeemed path. Abigail is committed to getting kids the help they need and hopefully getting them off the streets, especially with winter on the horizon.
There is more adventure, danger and fun moments for readers to enjoy in the story. So, grab a copy and get lost for a few hours with the canine team and their handlers. The True Blue Unit series will all be released in 2019. Here is a listing of the titles with the authors:
