Instead of a boarding school for witches and wizards it’s a mixed school of witches, dragons, vampires and werewolves. The main character, Grace, thinks she’s human, and after her parents die she’s sent to live at the boarding school which is ran by her Uncle. Crave is the first book in the series. The storyline is pretty basic. Grace’s parents die, she comes to the school, falls for a boy, Jaxon (like Twilight, it’s a vampire) and she learns of the politics of the school and the society. She later learns that her parents death was actually a murder to lure her to her own death. I like the overall storyline and the action scenes. Wolff writes really well. I wish this series was narrated from Jaxon’s point of view. After three books I really can’t stand Grace. She is whiny and weak in all 3. And it’s the same repetitive drawl over and over again. I don’t have much faith for Grace’s character development, but I will finish out the series. ★★★★ Despite the whiny main character, the storyline is pretty good. So for some reason I wanted to read the serious bc of the covers. So I bought the whole series. It took a bit to get into it but I was told it was good so kept pushing through. And I'll glad I did. Very nicely written. A little confusing until you catch on. Keeps you wanting more hence why the 2nd book is being started. Lol. TW/CW: Death, death of a parent, violence, fantasy violence, injury, sexual situations REVIEW: Crave is the story of Grace, a teenage girl who moves from San Diego to Alaska after the death of her parents in an automobile accident. She enrolls at the school where her uncle is the headmaster and soon discovers that not everything is as it seems. I chose this book because I enjoyed Twilight back in the day – one of my guilty pleasures. This book…is not Twilight, and that’s saying a lot. While it’s clear that it’s trying to be, it just didn’t capture me like Twilight did. For one thing, the main character is more than a little annoying – and I’ve never heard of a student missing as much class as she does. Her ‘romance’ with the MMC is honestly painful. The MMC himself creeps me out in the worst, most unhealthy ways, and I definitely think she chose the wrong guy, even though the book tries hard to convince the reader that she didn’t. All in all, either I’ve grown out of this kind of book, or it just isn’t very good. Maybe both. Either way, I won’t be continuing this series. inga recensioner | lägg till en recension

Grace's world changed when she joined the academy. At the academy she is a mere mortal among gods...or monsters. She can't decide which faction she should join, or if she should join any of them. The one thing that unites them is their hatred of her. Then there's Jaxon Vega, a vampire with deadly secrets who hasn't felt anything for a hundred years. Jaxon has walled himself off for a reason. Does someone want to wake the sleeping monster in him? Is Grace the bait? Inga biblioteksbeskrivningar kunde hittas. |

Definitely a Twilight-esque type book and I've loving it.
While the writing is world class, it's fun, it's easy, and I'm intrigued by all the characters. Looking forward to the rest of this series. (
