Not sure I can truly say I enjoyed a textbook - but this one was close to it. Information is concise and to the point. Each chapter was a good jumping off point to further reading . ( ) It is incredible as one peruses the pages in this book the amount that many teacher librarians have learned about technology over the last decade. The third edition of this book covers the waterfront from networks to devices to the Internet, to working with patrons on a wide spectrum of issues to think about as technology becomes a daily part of everything the library does for and with patrons. The book is divided into many topics and each chapter has review questions at the end. Thus, it could be used as a basis of professional development topics at monthly meetings of teacher librarians – a sort of guide to topics of interest with some basic information that could start the conversation, a demonstration, or even a workshop. This guide is for all types of libraries so a number of topics concerned with district technology problems, teaching and learning, and other daily interaction with children and teens are not covered. Nevertheless, there is just enough here to test ones current knowledge and introduce the novice to topics that it is valuable as a source for personal information and for planning inservice. Recommended as one of several sources along with the constant stream of reading blogs and following news in the market place to build and keep current on your tech-savvy repertoire. inga recensioner | lägg till en recension
