Amusing tales and snippets from the city and its rivers, with a few outside excursions ( ) This is a great collection of short stories that most have only been available to people who bought the special Waterstone editions of the hardcover. I had read about half of these before but was more than happy to buy it to get the rest including an audio only story now in print for the first time. The collection fills in the cracks between the books. Some happening right after the end of the main story and some are just set on their own not bookending any particular story. This will tide any fan over until the next book comes out. I started this as a fun read-aloud with my husband, but he dropped out once we were through all the Peter Grant stories, blast him (not you, Peter). In his defense, the Grant stories are the most entertaining of this collection, with the exception of Abigail’s story. That one gives me high hopes that What Abigail Did That Summer will be grand. The rest of the stories and snippets were about other characters in the Grant series, as well as a couple with his German counterparts, Tobias and Vanessa. It was neat to see Aaronovitch write from different characters’ points of view, but the shorter the snippets got, the less I cared about them, and I didn’t always remember who some of the minor characters were. Worth a read for Aaronovitch fans. inga recensioner | lägg till en recension
