Sweet book about giving and it’s the thought that counts. I am a Mr. Panda fan and enjoy this book as much as the others. ( )

Thank you Mr. Panda/Gracias Sr. Panda by Steve Antony teaches us the importance of appreciating gifts and "the thought that counts." ( )

Mr. Panda hands out gifts to his friends. Each gift is not right for one reason or another and Lemur reminds their friends that it is the thought that counts. ( )

Disappointingly not as good as Please Mr. Panda and I'll Wait Mr. Panda. This time, the lemur from Please Mr. Panda accompanies Mr. Panda as he hands out gifts to his friends - a too-big sweater for Mouse, six socks for the eight-legged Octopus, a mystery gift for Elephant (who says they'll open it later), a too-long tie for Mountain Goat, and finally a too-big pair of donut-patterned underwear for Lemur. Remember, it's the thought that counts!

I'm not sure this stands on its own at all without the first two books, and I'm not sure the idea of "it's the thought that counts" makes much sense to toddlers, though they can appreciate the humor of a too-big pair of underwear. I'll happily re-read the first two, but I'm not a fan of this one. ( )
