Fiona Harrison (Blackwell), the youngest of the Harrison clan, has gone to Montana where her extended Blackwell family resides, seeking a husband. She’s using the dating app, PartnerUp, to find someone with a lucrative career who’s marriage material. She wants to please her father, Rudy, who thinks she sets her dating standards too low. Arranging to meet her dates at the Silver Stake, a local restaurant and bar where handsome bartender Simon Clarke works, isn’t helping her dilemma. When he criticizes her use of the dating app to find a suitable partner and agrees to find dates for her, she’s a bit stupefied by the gesture. After all, Simon would make a great match if only he was more ambitious. Fiona senses a mutual attraction, but she can’t contemplate marriage to a bartender as part of her future; she needs someone with higher aspirations to please her dad. But Simon has a secret, and when it’s divulged Fiona feels betrayed. Was the love of her life right in front of her all along, or is he shaping up to be just like the rest of the disappointments she’s given up on? It was a joy returning to Montana and visiting with the Blackwell clan. Fiona’s navigation through the shaky start with her newfound relatives, along with her quest to find the perfect guy, kept me engrossed in the story. The appearance of Big E and Rudy in the book is always a highlight of this series, and the exciting ending has me looking forward to the fifth and final book in the series, Montana Wedding by Cari Lynn Webb. I enjoyed Montana Match and recommend it highly. Carol Ross is an outstanding author but I feel this is one of her cleverest books! This is a wonderful continuation story of the Blackwell family of Montana. Fiona, siblings and father are united with their estranged grandfather/father. Now her father and grandfather has left on a trip to find a missing son of "Big E" Blackwell. Before leaving, they set Fiona with a dating service which is designed to make a "perfect match" Her dad assisted with the formulation of her profile and what she is looking for in a husband. Up to this point, Fiona has had poor luck in choosing a man to have a lasting relationship with. Now she is beginning the process of choosing from the top choices the computer has picked for her. Will she finally find her 'perfect match"? Simon returned to what he always felt was his "home town" to assist his cousin while he stayed home to care for his wife who had an accident. He and his cousin had tended bar as they earned their way through college. Simon now had his own company but was comfortable managing his cousin's pub until his wife could get on her feet again. It was the only cafe/pub in the small town. He enjoyed observing the "dating efforts" of attractive Fione. This is s very fun, sometimes humorous, dating/courtship tale. The author has, once again, written an entertaining tale of romance with humor, conflict and family loyalty. . This book was gifted me with no pressure to post a positive review. This is my honest review. Fiona Harrison is a sweet and cute "people pleaser" who thinks that finding a husband will make her father and grandfather happy, so she follows their suggestion to leave her California home to go to the small town of Falcon Creek, Montana. Simon Clarke is a successful businessman but his dysfunctional childhood has left him leery of any romantic commitment until....he meets a young woman who is looking for a new job and a husband. What follows is an intriguing story filled with misunderstandings, miscommunication, and lots of romantic chemistry. Will Fiona find what she thinks she needs in Montana? Can Simon overcome the deep hurts from his childhood? Will he listen to the advice of his friend Luke? "I got news for you, Buddy---relationships hurt. Relationships of all kinds. You can't avoid it. You just have to hold onto the notion that a little pain is worth the reward." Simon and Fiona are perfect together and I loved that their first meeting is actually the "meet-cute" that Fiona had always hoped to have. There are several other characters that add interest to this delightful romance, and Luke, Fiona's four sisters, her father, and her grandfather, help make this a book that you can't put down. I recommend Montana Match to anyone who enjoys clean contemporary romance. I received a complimentary copy of this book from the author via Prism Book Tours. There was no obligation for a positive review. These are my own thoughts. I had no idea a group of the Harlequin Heartwarming series authors returned to Falcon Creek, Montana, and the Blackwell clan until this book (the fourth in the series) came across my radar. Catching up with the Blackwell brothers (who were introduced last year around this time) was fun through the eyes of their brand-new-to-them cousins—five sisters. Montana Match focuses on the youngest of the Harrison sisters, free spirited and kindhearted Fiona. Fiona needs a good match, and that comes in the form of Simon Clarke who saves her from some uncomfortable online date matchups. He sees Fee for who she is from the start. There are a few humorous moments sprinkled throughout this book—especially when the guys rib each other—but the heart of the story is Fiona’s quest to find a stable job and a suitable man and the romance that brews between her and Simon. And I just have to throw this out there. I really hope we see look show up in a leading role in a future book from Ross. But! I did love the main characters, Fiona and Simon, the humor that was scattered throughout the story, and the romance or resistance against having a romance was sweet.
Luke, okay, well, I loved him! He was just such a sweet side character! I loved how he was in so much of "Montana Match" along with the main characters. And his loyalty was just so sweet.
And, I am now going to (hopefully) find the other books in this series because I have been missing out!
