Katarina is a woodland fairy with butterfly wings, a crown made of twigs and leaves, and a silk dress of green and shimmering gold. One day, peering through the forest trees, Katarina spies a girl sitting in the grass, crying. Young Evelyn tells the fairy sheâ??s sad because she doesnâ??t think sheâ??s good at anything. Katarina teaches Evelyn that everyone is born with unique talents. Det här är en av LibraryThings förhandsrecensioner.
It is a brilliantly illustrated graphic novel aimed at spreading good habits and practices to children. It can be used as a fun novel to read to your kids. But, it wont be able to convey the message properly if given to the kids directly since the language is not so simple. But the kid will love looking at it because it is very brightly coloured and kid friendly. ( )

I love how this book can uplift practically anyone and help to discover your gift. This book could be used to set goals or reflect on who you are as an individual. The message of this text is very clear and the pictures are extremely vibrant. ( )

Overall, the message of this book is good. Helping children begin to identify their"gifts" and those of others is a worthy purpose. At times, I felt the story was a bit preachy or high-handed. The pictures are bright, colorful, and inviting. There is ethnic diversity among the children represented. I do wonder why so many of the kids have their mouths open in less than attractive ways. This is a picture book, the images are an important part of the narrative and the way in which young children will connect with the words so, I was disappointed that there is an extensive author's note but nothing about the Illustrator.

Included is an activity for children as well as instructions for parents and teachers. Both are simple and straightforward. ( )
