I really loved the original stories by Niven, so tried this, but it fails. I don't know what level of involvement Niven had in these books, but I think think the writing is mostly Lerner. Anyway, it may have been written in Known Space, with Niven characters, but all these novels just seem ... Flat. Something I just can't define from the original Ringworld novels is missing from these ( )
