I loved this book - the two color illustrations, the size, the concept and the ending. (

This book is supposed to be an easy reader, but I did not feel like that was the case. Most page had at least one word that would seriously challenge anyone who was at the level the story was written for. The pictures were nice, but kind of drab, and the key words were not always represented in the picture. The story had a nice mirror to it where words like "explorer" matched in the second half with "exploring" in the first half, which might help students learn.

When a little boy finds a big red hat in a park, he imagines all sorts of things he can do with it. His mother convinces him that the hat might belong to someone else and they leave it.
