Weird...not sure I like this author...I bought another one of his(?) books at the thrift store so I'll read that and see... In one of the investigations in 'The Mind-Murders',we have a killer without a corpse and in another a corpse without a killer. Grijpstra and de Gier are really in deep water (or at least one of them is) in these two rather strange cases. While usually a great enthusiast of ' The Amsterdam Cops' series, this particular one does not quite work. It seems to me that the writer was at times on an extreme acid trip in this rather confused story. The continuing facts that emerge about the life of Commissaris, who is a wonderful character, are added to in this book. At the point where he is forced to meet two German police officers late in the book (he had been imprisoned and tortured by the nazi's in the war) is poignant indeed. So,overall, although not one of his better efforts, this story does have it's moments and is certainly worth reading. inga recensioner | lägg till en recension
