I bought an air fryer/toaster oven all of two weeks ago, and was approved for this brand-new cookbook all of a week later. I felt like the Book Gods had smiled upon me!
This book of 5-ingredient recipes is apparently one in a series of air fryer cookbooks. One important note straight-up: a lot of the recipes actually have more than 5 ingredients as things like flour, sugar, salt and pepper, and vanilla extract are regarded as freebies that most cooks will have around. That's fair, I suppose, but the title could have also been changed to something more accurate that was still catchy.
After explaining how air fryers work, the book quickly gets into the recipes. There are sections on breakfast, appetizers and snacks, side dishes, chicken, beef and pork, fish and seafood, vegetarian mains, and desserts. As the cookbook started, I was disappointed that a lot of the recipes didn't seem much different from the booklet that came with my air fryer, but as it continued, I appreciated the greater variety of recipes it offered. Unfortunately, there are only a few photographs in each section.
In the end, I found several new recipes I intend to try out in my newest kitchen gadget. While I do wish the book had included more of interest--and more photographs--I do feel that this series is one to watch, as I liked the variety of foods they described. ( )
