I love Danielle Bean's blog so much that I would have been shocked if I hadn't loved this book. There are very few people who seem to set such a good example, by their life and work, that they make you want to be a better mother and a better person, and that is the sort of statement that sounds over-the-top and saccharine when said aloud. But in this case, I mean it. Danielle has a knack of making you feel that she has been in your shoes, indeed, that we are all in it together, and her advice has less the flavor of advice and more the flavor of "Here's something that's worked for me. You can try it if you like." I think every mother should read this book. If I were on a desert island and could only bring two parenting books (a desert daycare, perhaps? That would be an odd situation) - I would bring this and Marguerite Kelly's Family Almanac. ( )
