The Fear Street Seniors series is a spin off of the Fear Street series. This is a series of teen horror books by R. L. Stine. Fear Street books take place in Shadyside, a fictional city located somewhere on the East Coast, and feature average teenagers, older than the Goosebumps preteens, who come into contact with evil somtimes supernatural, often frightening advaseries. Some novels in the series include ghosts but others are mystery murders. This novel in the series is about Phoebe Yamura who wants to win the state cheerleading competition. Unfortunately, some members of her squad have other ideas and want to get rid of her. I didn't care for this particular novel in the series although the concept of the series appeals to many high school readers, so including some Fear Street series novels in the collection would be benefical to the LMC. inga recensioner | lägg till en recension

Cheerleaders and Fear Street have had a pretty good run. I was pleased to see the 'Seniors' series was going to focus on the Tigers Squad, even if only for a single volume.
The school year is half over and three students have died, the Home-Ec teacher exsanguinated, two transfer students have disappeared, and one more student shipped off to the State Mental hospital to get the help they need. One of those dead students was Danielle Cortez, also exsanguinated if you're curious, and the squad hasn't quite gotten over it for some reason. They've moved Samantha Harper up to the main squad so they have a full complement of cheerleaders, but Phoebe Yamura has a big problem. Jade Feldman and Dana Palmer are resentful of not being named captain and are doing everything in their power to screw with Phoebe. Their toxicity is painful to read.
It seems like their behavior is only getting worse when Phoebe starts finding her uniforms destroyed and bloody messages left in her locker. Jade and Dana deny everything, but smirk the whole time. Phoebe really tries to be nice to them, to no avail. When she helps a transfer student (another one?) named Gina get named as alternate on the squad, her only thanks is resentment because she couldn't get her a full-fledged slot on the team.
This campaign of harassment is only made worse because Phoebe has to keep her boyfriend, Ty Sullivan, a secret from her parents. They don't approve of dating and barely let Phoebe cheerlead, so they are not a source of comfort.
Events come to a head in spectacular fashion. My only issue, really, is we don't see everyone get their just desserts.
The previous book in the franchise I read and reviewed was 'The Gift'.
