Ty Sullivan is so stoked to be going out with three girls at once! His "official" girlfriend is Phoebe Yamura, head cheerleader, but he's going out with rich girl Trisha Conrad and overachiever Marla Newman on the side. Trisha and Marla both think Ty is going to break it off with Phoebe any day now so he's in the clear. The only issue is the Valentine's Dance coming up. Each girl thinks he's gonna ask them! What a bummer. There's also the issue of Trisha having the hot-tempered Gary Fresno as a boyfriend already, and Gary is not about to let Ty walk off with his girl.
Then there's the issue of the Valentine's he's receiving from Amy. The paper is old, the stamps collector's pieces, and the handwriting is to DIE for. She says she's from the past and she's possessed of a jealous temper. Ty is so stoked to have FOUR girlfriends!
Only once, in 'Double Date', did Stine ever adequately deal with a Shadyside guy. 'Sweetheart, Evil Heart' comes close. Ty is no Bobby Newkirk, but it was almost charming to see him actually answering ghostly Valentines in-between juggling his three girlfriends. This is pretty much the whole plot. Ty's friends Mickey, Kenny and Matty are making jokes as to which bodacious babe is going to be lucky enough to go to the dance with Ty and Ty is beginning to have doubts about the threatening letters he's receiving from his ghostly girlfriend.
I do love the ending of this one, but I've hated Ty since the beginning so a whole book from his prospective can't get top marks. I'm sad to say that this is the last sequential 'Seniors' book I have. I have one more on hand and then I go on to the 'Fear Street Nights' trilogy. The recaps to 'Spring Break', 'Prom Date' and 'Graduation Day' as done by The Mummy Reads on Wordpress helped me get a sense of what I missed. Check them out if you don't mind spoilers!

The next book I read and review in the franchise is 'Wicked'
