Three women's lives come under examination as they are drawn to the same office building just before a major hurricane hits their city. One is an career women trying to escape her humble past, one is a jilted wife who wants to confront her husband, and one is a maid who hopes her secrets are buried in the Mexico she left behind to come to the states. What they don't know is what they have in common--which is gradually revealed as the book unfolds and they become trapped in an elevator together. There are a lot of improbablities to this story that you just have to go with to enjoy it. The elevator repair man makes a climb that sounds near nigh impossible. But it is an interesting set-up and give the author a chance to show her characters doing some real soul searching. A nice read for those who like introspective suspense. inga recensioner | lägg till en recension

While the plot line was a bit unbelievable, the writing style was good enough to keep me captivated. I enjoyed the three women's background stories and the excitement of being trapped in an elevator during a hurricane, kept me turning the pages. Also, I loved Sadie! An easy, entertaining read. ( )
