Perhaps a negative, this personality model is based on some older research that is not contemporary--and one assumes that more recent diligence and knowledge academically and research-wise influence more recent models. That said, it measures respondents across four variables, and then comes up with personality types, 14 of them. Examples are Ally, Sponsor, Entreprenuer, Diplomat, that kind of thing. Again on simplicity, there is only 1-2 pages dedicated to each personality type. It covers the research details of the study--which states 500,000 people took the study that resulting in these types. Overall interesting, and kind of fun to try to figure out which personality type you are. All that said, this isn't contemporary, it isn't written by academics steeped in contemporary research, and written by a testing vendor as a clear marketing tool to generate more fees, I expect. The writing is a bit clunky and the editing in the first half of the book is wanting. If you are OK skipping around and want simplicity, this would be appealing. "Success is not a matter of "being who you want to be"--by the time we reach adulthood, who we are is already determined by fixed traits that change less than 1% in a lifetime. Self-awareness stands alone as the ubiquitous skill behind successful people. A decade-long worldwide study of more than 500,000 people has determined fourteen types on the basis of personality profiles, and led to the development of the IDISC PersonalityProfiler(tm) test, which can help you fully engage your innate talents, maximize your strengths, avoid the pitfalls of your distinctive type, work smarter with others, and profit from better relationships in every aspect of your life and career.--From publisher description."--From source other than the Library of Congress Inga biblioteksbeskrivningar kunde hittas. |
