Laddar... Yours Trulyav Abby Jimenez
![]() Book I read in 2023 (11) Det finns inga diskussioner på LibraryThing om den här boken. This book is absolutely everything. I've read all of Abby Jimenez's books and this one is hands down my favorite. I could understand so much of what Jacob feels in regards to his anxiety. I've not read a story before that hits the nail on the head so well in how I often find myself feeling in situations. I wouldn't say all of Jacob's experiences mirror mine, but enough that I actually saw a lot of myself in his character especially that tendency to overanalyze and replay every conversation looking for the ways you could have said or done something differently, but also having those people who are your safe space. This book really takes quite a lot of turns from how you might initially think Brianna and Jacob's relationship would develop. It never felt like too much though. Abby Jimenez navigated those turns like a pro making everything feel very naturally occurring and never forced. I loved seeing Brianna and Jacob orbit around one another. Both so attuned to the other yet still forming certain misconceptions about each other. I hated that they could each equally miss the cues the other was giving off, but that still encapsulates how perfect they are together if they could see around their own hang ups. I loved the dual narration we get for Brianna and Jacob. I think that this really brought some depth to the characters. The narrators were great with their inflections and brining the varying emotions to the forefront and also infusing the secondary characters with personality. It's a great listen. I really wanted to spend more time in this book and I think it'll be one that I revisit again. This is kind of a spin off to Abby Jimenez's previous work Part of Your World but you certainly don't have to read that book in order to understand and enjoy this book. But if that's the case, I'm hoping that reading this book will motivate you to read the rest of Abby Jimenez's backlog because she is one of the best out there right now, you won't be disappointed. Jimenez does an amazing job of describing what it is like to live with social anxiety. I could completely relate to Jacob because of this. This book was laugh out loud funny. I enjoyed it so much. My only quibble, because I've read so many of Jimenez' novels now, is that she always has the male lead character "pull his hand down his face" or beard if he has one. Every. Single. One. It's annoying. And it comes up often. Sigh. Otherwise, I am almost through her entire backlist and I "just discovered " her this year. Love her!!! Guys! This book is hilarious. If you are looking for a book that will make you laugh out loud, this is it! Let's start with Briana...she is an ER doctor who seems stressed to the max in both her personal life and in her career. Her brother needs a kidney, and she is finalizing her divorce to her cheating husband. She really wants a promotion at work, and thinks she deserves it since she has put in so much time and effort. Enter Dr Jacob Maddox, a new ER doctor that could possibly steal her promotion right out from under her. This automatically makes him the enemy. His secret? He is actually a nice guy who suffers with anxiety, and could not care less about getting the job that Briana wants. He wants to make nice with Bri, so he decides to write her a letter. Through these letters, they learn that they can actually be friends. He learns about Bri's brother needing a kidney, and since his mom had received a kidney when he was younger, he decides he wants to pay it forward, so he gets tests done to see if he is a match....and he is! In Jacob's personal life, his brother is marrying Jacob's ex-girlfriend. In order to face all the wedding events, Jacob asks Bri to be his fake girlfriend. If you want to read the hilarious events that take place after this point, check out the book! You won't regret it. This book was….AMAZING! I found myself laughing, almost crying and fully relating to many of the emotions the characters were experiencing. Especially the fear, pain and sometimes anger from Briana. At present I’m going through an emotional rough spot in my marriage and can completely relate to Briana and her emotions. This book gives me hope that despite the overwhelming sadness I’m personally feeling that there maybe hope in someway for something brighter. Thank you for sharing your story Abby. Not just the book, but the personal one you shared at the end.❤️❤️❤️❤️ inga recensioner | lägg till en recension

A novel of terrible first impressions, hilarious second chances, and the joy in finding your perfect match from "a true talent" (Emily Henry, #1 New York Times bestselling author). Dr. Briana Ortiz's life is seriously flatlining. Her divorce is just about finalized, her brother's running out of time to find a kidney donor, and that promotion she wants? Oh, that's probably going to the new man-doctor who's already registering eighty-friggin'-seven on Briana's "pain in my ass" scale. But just when all systems are set to hate, Dr. Jacob Maddox completely flips the game . . . by sending Briana a letter. And it's a really good letter. Like the kind that proves that Jacob isn't actually Satan. Worse, he might be this fantastically funny and subversively likeable guy who's terrible at first impressions. Because suddenly he and Bri are exchanging letters, sharing lunch dates in her "sob closet," and discussing the merits of freakishly tiny horses. But when Jacob decides to give Briana the best gift imaginable—a kidney for her brother—she wonders just how she can resist this quietly sexy new doctor . . . especially when he calls in a favor she can't refuse. "Abby Jimenez's words...sprinkle humor and warmth all over my life." –Ali Hazelwood, New York Times bestselling author of The Love Hypothesis. Inga biblioteksbeskrivningar kunde hittas. |

Dr. Brianna Ortiz's life is currently at a low point with her divorce being finalized, her brother needing a kidney donner, and wanting the promotion at work that is probably going to the new dr.
Dr. Jacob Maddox has social anxiety and dealing with some troubles of his own, like his brother and ex girlfriend getting married.
The chemistry between Brianna and Jacob is noticeable from the start, even if it is a rough one. The letters they write back and forth are precious and are a beautiful start to their budding relationship. (
