If you are looking this book up then you are probably required to read it for a class, in which case it doesn't really matter how good it is since you still have to read it. My best advice is to practice the art of skimming before your semester begins. Chan's pretty great at explaining a lot of the abstract concepts of the cataloging world--as well as can be explained at least--but I did notice a few wholes in her chapters about DDC and LC (and Cutter number) classification.
