Things have changed a bit since this book was published, but it was assigned to me for a class back in grad school, so before I get rid of it I figured I ought to actually read it, not just the paragraphs we focused on in class way back when. "Don't Ask, Don't Tell" had not yet been repealed and there have been a few new marriage and adoption cases since this book was written. Still, the history covered in this book is fairly well-written and one could probably follow it even without a law background. There is a lot of jargon, enough to easily understand why the general public doesn't follow the courts and legislature very successfully. ( ) inga recensioner | lägg till en recension
Examines the contemporary battle for gay and lesbian rights in the United States, tracing the evolution of issues from same sex marriage and private rights to military service and employment discrimination.
