I really enjoyed reading this book, seeing more of what lives under water at the Bay of Fundy. I was lucky enough to have a vacation there but didn't get to dive. I'm convinced in future I will dive there. The photographs are beautiful and there is a lot of great information. Great book. ( ) A photographic essay about the exquisite Bay of Fundy, site of the world's highest tides. The author is a photographer who is willing to get down and intimate with the natural system, even if that means going in the ocean with his camera equipment, so you don't just see the world at shoulder height. The pictures are gorgeous, the text flows nicely and is easy to read, and the descriptions of the tidal cycles and the wildlife of the area are interesting, if a bit superficial. inga recensioner | lägg till en recension
The 12,000-square-kilometer Bay of Fundy is just a fraction of the vast Atlantic Ocean, yet its diversity and biological productivity make it one of the most prodigious cold-water Atlantic ecosystems in the world. Scott Leslie's stunning photographic homage explores every aspect of this dynamic destination from the pristine coastline to the rich fossil record to its vibrant wildlife pictured in flight, underwater, in marshes, tide pools, and on land. Featuring more than 80 full-color photographs, The Bay of Fundy Wild is a visual feast for photographers, ecologists, and nature lovers. Inga biblioteksbeskrivningar kunde hittas. |
