As Miss B gets ready to celebrate the one-hundredth day of school with her kindergarten class, she is filled with excitement and joy. She decorates her class and assigns everyone to bring in 100 of their favorite items. The class celebrates the 100th day of school will creative games, activities, and style. Reading about Miss B, truly showed me the hard work that teachers put in. In the beginning of the book her class was missing decorations and activities for the 100th day of school. By the end of the book, not a single space of the classroom was uncovered with something that said 100 on it. She worked so hard for her students to enjoy and grasp the concept of 100. The creativity and art work really stood out to me in this book. The amount of detail it took to draw the diversity of animals was incredible to see. I also like the way the alphabet was also being taught when reading this book. Each letter of the alphabet was written in bold and color. The letters also described the personality of each student in the class. I felt like I was part of Miss B's class after reading it because I knew so much about her students. The author did a great job at describing the multiple learning areas addressed in kindergarten that were portrayed in this book. Overall, this was a great book and showered me with many ideas for the day my class celebrates the 100th day of school. ( )

This was just an okay book. I liked it, but it wasn't amazing. A couple of the reasons I liked this book was the fact that the language was patterned and the plot was organized in a way even young readers could understand it. The language was patterned and repeated the main plot of the book every few pages, and kept the same structure for each page in between. The example of this is that on one day, it shows what Miss Bindergarten is doing to prepare for the 100th day, and the on the next page it shows what each of her students are doing for their project for the 100th day; one kid brought in 100 dinosaur toys. The plot was concise and organized, which allows for the younger readers to read the book without problems. The plot of the book is the 100th day of kindergarten and that is all that is shown throughout the book. The only part that is not like the rest is the first page and the last, which have the most writing. The first page the teacher explains the student's homework and then the rest of the book except for the end shows what the kids are doing for their homework. The message of this book is counting and enjoying the small victories. ( )

This is the second Miss Bindergarten book my son picks out at the library, and while these books do have some merit I just found it really painful to read through them. There's the rhyming, that's not terribly fluid already, but then it's interrupted by page spreads that just read "Miss Bindergarten gets ready for the 100th day of kindergarten". And again and again, every couple of pages. Really? I forgot!
Here's an example of the rhyming: "100 days of friends, 100 days of fun, 100 days of darling, dazzling, winning work you've done. So remember that tomorrow all of you must bring 100 of some wonderful one-hundred-full thing." It was just killing me to have to read this. And somehow, I don't find the illustrations all that charming. I can't but compare it with [b:So Many Bunnies: A Bedtime ABC and Counting Book|3890653|So Many Bunnies A Bedtime ABC and Counting Book|Rick Walton|https://d202m5krfqbpi5.cloudfront.net/books/1348554293s/3890653.jpg|147573], also with anthropomorphic characters and the same concept of using each letter of the alphabet to give a child a name, counting, etc. and the bunny book to me just has so much more charm.
As for the merits, this is probably a great book to have in the classroom. It gives one a lot to talk about, and my son was very interested in the last pages of the book in particular, where you can see all the hundred-full things the students bring in. It's certainly full of detail. ( )

Miss Bindergarten students all gets ready for the 100th day of kindergarten. They all make and bring in special items to share with the class. This class is so unique because they are different animals who names all begins with different letters.
I love this book. I remember in elementary school where we use to celebrate the 100th day of school with our friends and teachers. ( )

Miss Bindergarten's class all find things that equal one hundred to celebrate the 100th day of kindergarten. All through the book each student is spotlighted with what they are bringing to the class that equals 100. This is a very good book. It can serve as an inspiration for what to do on the 100th day of school. ( )
