At the end of the book there is a list of the word for peach in almost 500 different languages. This book is absolutely adorable! I love how the writing is a collection of real children's ideas. The book uses all five senses to explain peace. This book can be used to teach about ellipses in writing. The author gives many examples of writing with ellipses throughout the book since he had to combined different ideas from different people. "What Does Peace Feel Like?" is a book that includes responses from children in the text. The kids were asked different questions about what they thought peace was like, and the different responses were formed into almost a sort of poem. Each page includes the first names and ages of the children whose responses were included on the page. Throughout the book, peace is written in numerous different languages, and is featured in the backgrounds of many illustrations. There isn't much else to mention in this review, so I just wanted to include some of my favorite responses to some of the different questions: "[Peace looks] like something beautiful that goes away but will come back," "[Peace sounds] like everyone's heart beating, making one big sound together," and my favorite, "[Peace feels] like someone stroking your back; you shiver a little, but it's a wonderful feeling." Though I feel like this book isn't really social studies related, you could include it in a lesson about war or children affected by war. inga recensioner | lägg till en recension
