This book shows various examples of energy. The book tells about the sun’s energy, energy in food, the energy in a non moving rock and many more. Children will be surprised to know how many things have energy and how energy can be transferred, from on thing to another and that it can’t be destroyed or created. The back of the book gives even more examples of energy. Very informative. ( )

The book "Energy Makes Things Happen" is exactly what it sounds like. Its a book about different forms of energy and how we interact with them in our lives. The book gives several examples of energy and what we use energy for, as well as how energy is transferred. The book also talks about how the sun is our greatest source of energy. I think this book is a great introduction to energy for students and presents the material in a way that is easy for them to understand and relate to. This book would be a great jumping off point for further studies on energy in the classroom. ( )

Genre: Informational

Summary: This book explains energy to a young audience. It shares how everything uses energy, how energy can be changed but never lost, and how the sun is the greatest source of energy. This book is filled with various examples of how energy is used in this world.

Review: I believe this book is excellent for young audiences. This book keeps its' scientific integrity while implementing examples that are both easy or young children to understand and relate to. This book is a great introduction to energy, and it can be a springboard for much more investigating about energy.

Energy Makes Things Happen would be good to use when learning about energy. The book explains how everything has energy. It goes into great detail describing energy, but I did find it could get a little confusing, especially for younger children. I did like that the book shows everyday objects and how energy is stored in it. At the end of the book, it mentioned things from the beginning and showed how the energy was stored in the object. I liked that it wrapped everything up in a clear way. The book defined fuels and fossil fuels. The illustrations would demonstrate how energy was used in the object mentioned. This would be a great book to do demonstrations are you read. I think it would enhance the book. ( )
