Toad and Frog are definitely best buds, stories are sweet, but the endings of these little short stories fall strangely flat.

The frogs, as any good friend would do, lift each other up when one is having a bad day.

ABOUT THE AUTHOR

Arnold Lobel was married and had two children. He died young, at age 54, in 1987, from a heart-attack, while also suffering from AIDS. It is true he was gay and had just come out in 1974, and he and his wife divorced. According to Lobel's own words, the two frogs each depicted a part of his personality: the "bumbling" toad and the "adventurous" frog, but this doesn't have to mean the two frogs are gay, does it? Nothing but friendship is suggested here. ( )

This book teaches kids that everyone is different and that we need to be kind to one another. In this book Frog and Toad go on many adventures together despite their differences. This book is targeted towards primary grade students who are getting introduced to chapter books. ( )

this book is a good book for kids that have longer stamina they have longer chapters but still involve pictures. the way i would use this in the classroom is for problem solving along with what a good friend looks like.
