Laddar... On the Other Side of the Hill (1995)av Roger Lea MacBride
![]() Pioneers (33) Det finns inga diskussioner på LibraryThing om den här boken. 00001057 This series by MacBride really is better than the pre-Laura series. More intense, more heartfelt, richer. Not quite enough to give it another star, mainly because now that I've read all that I own I don't feel the need to seek out more. I did put a couple of book darts in bits I wanted to note: [T]hey who forgive most will be most forgiven." "The test of good manners is being respectful even to those with bad ones."" love this series!!!!!! (For some reason the Rainmakers' song "The Other Side of the World" has been running through my head ever since I picked up this book.) This is the fourth book of The Rocky Ridge Years series, chronicling the life of Rose Wilder in the 1890's. It's another book that's enjoyable to read, though not compelling. It's good waiting room material. Reading a straightforward biography of Rose Wilder Lane might be quicker than reading through this series, but I think this way is a lot more fun. inga recensioner | lägg till en recension

One of the things that's interesting in comparing these to the Little House books is that I feel the author romanticizes farming much less than Laura Ingalls Wilder did. I don't think one way is better than the other, but it is an interesting contrast. (
