I do so love a book that connects to the imaginative spark in a child.

Gentle and fun.

This fiction book is about a blue boat that goes on an adventure through the imagination of the 'conductor'. The book starts out in a bathtub and sails into a busy harbor. From there it goes into the ocean to dance and play with whales and dolphins. The boat sails through a storm then rests under the moon and stars where it drifts back to the lighthouse where the 'conductor' sleeps. An instant notable feature about this book is the illustration. The pictures look like watercolor which keeps the nautical theme. I could use this book as an instructional application to help students create a simple but detailed adventure of their own. ( )
