With vivid, richly detailed illustrations, Brian Wildsmith captures all the major events of one of the greatest stories in the Bible. In Wildsmith’s hands, this familiar Exodus journey comes alive against stunning backdrops―from the great palaces of ancient Egypt, to the vast expanses of Sinai’s mountains and wilderness, to the peaceful place God’s people can finally call home. ( ) Colorful, detailed illustrations. God is portrayed as a sort of star-like image. Selected highlights of the life of Moses and the "Hebrews" in Egypt and the wilderness give an overview of the biblical book of Exodus; not everything that happens in that book is included and some explanations, while reasonable, are not explicitly mentioned in the original text. The Ten Commandments are displayed at the beginning and end of the book; they are shown on the ark, with cherubim above it. The translation includes "You must not kill;" it should be "You must not murder." (The PJ Library version concludes with a page of ideas for "engaging children with Passover.") Staying true to the word, this story with it's fantastic, well-thought illustrations does a wonderful job of documenting the entire life of Moses. It is lengthy, with alot of information, so I do recommend using it as a supplement with your Bible program, and perhaps reading it in pieces, at least the first time through. inga recensioner | lägg till en recension
